DTP Services
Our capabilities include a range of foreign-language graphic services for print and web: file preparation, design, image editing, layout and quality assurance. Everything you need to ensure that your document or project is picture perfect for your stakeholders.
File Preparation: We prepare documents, extract text and/or convert files to the most suitable format for the translation process. We typically encourage translation clients to provide us with an editable text format, such as Word, InDesign and PowerPoint, since PDFs and other non-editable file formats require preparation work and the final translated documents may not look exactly like the original files. But we know that editable text formats aren’t always available.
Design: We create new designs and templates, or modify existing designs and images, to ensure that the translation is attractively presented and localized for your target audience.
Image Editing: We edit the texts that appear within images so that your translation is cohesive and understood.
Layout: We adjust the layout to ensure that the translation fits appropriately in the target language. Did you know that translated texts can expand or shrink depending on the language combination? A document translated from English to Spanish may be as much as 30% longer, while a document translated from Arabic to English may be as much as 25% shorter.
Quality Assurance (QA): Our expert linguists use their eagle eyes to check all formatting and text before publication and ensure peace of mind. In fact, we always recommend to clients that even if they have a design department within their company, the formatting and quality assurance should be handled by our translation company as our linguists can confirm that the document is ready to be published. We run as many DTP plus QA steps as needed until the document is absolutely perfect.
